Every Child Matters (Orange Shirt Day, September 30th) is “Canada's National Day for Truth and Reconciliation” regarding Residential School impacts on Indigenous Children, including numerous atrocities. The slogan – Every Child Matters – is a declaration that no matter how much they were ignored, dismissed and abused during Canada’s residential school era, the lives of Indigenous children matter!

Two Crow and Athena were gifted the orange flag at Chiefmoon Piercing Sun Dance on the Blood Reserve, Alberta, Canada, where they are participants. This photo was taken at the site of a former Residential School site in Panguitch, Utah. Athena and Two Crow did a ceremony to acknowledge and honor 12 Paiute children who likely died there and were buried in unmarked graves.
