Spirit of the Wind for Women
Spirit of the Wind brings to fruition a project that has been on our minds for years: an all-women Sweat Lodge Purification Ceremony (Temazcal).
We proudly present our very first Ceremony, crafted especially for women and the Sacred Feminine, creating space for women to gather in prayer, purification, healing, reflection, and connection with the Creator and Mother Earth.
The lodge itself symbolizes the womb of Mother Earth—a place of renewal and rebirth.
The ceremony will be led by Tashina Thom, who has spent many years learning the ancestral ways and traditions of the Native American Sweat Lodge under the guidance of her father, Walking Eagle (Jack Thom, Sr.), our beloved Elder who's the founding father of Spirit of the Wind.
For years, Tashina has served as one of her father's apprentices and trusted helpers, learning through direct experience, observation, prayer, and participation. She has taken an active role in ceremonies and has served as one of the main helpers inside the Sweat Lodge, gaining knowledge of the responsibilities, protocols, prayers, and sacred traditions associated with the ceremony.
Her path has been one of learning through service—assisting her father, supporting participants, and deepening her understanding of the ancestral teachings passed down through generations.
Together, women can enter this sacred space to pray, release what they no longer need, seek healing and guidance, and reconnect with themselves, one another, Mother Earth, and the ancestral traditions that continue to guide these ceremonies.
We invite women to join us for this meaningful gathering and to experience the strength, connection, and sacredness of coming together in ceremony.

Ceremonial Protocols:
This Ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 19, at 1 PM.
It lasts around 60 minutes.
To help everyone acclimate and prepare, we recommend that participants arrive 1 hour before the start time.
Please refrain from wearing any perfume or cologne.
Respect the Ceremony's sacredness: Sweat Lodges are spiritual healing spaces and should be treated with the utmost respect.
What should you bring?
Bring your drum and participate in the drum circle before the Ceremony starts.
Bring a towel and wear comfortable clothes.
Dress Code: click here to view the dress code.
Make sure your clothes have no metallic details, as the lodge's heat can cause them to rust.
Before entering the sweat lodge, you must remove your shoes, glasses, and metal objects (i.e., necklaces, bracelets, rings).
Out of respect for natural law, we always make a tobacco offering to the Fire before taking anything for our needs.
We always leave our ceremonial areas clean.
Please refrain from any activities that disturb or damage the natural habitat.
WE DON'T THROW ANYTHING IN THE SACRED FIRE OTHER THAN OUR TOBACCO OFFERING.
Offering / Donation / Energy Exchange:
The Public Ceremonies are open to the community and offered on a donation/energy-exchange basis.
Why do we ask for donations for our monthly Public Sweat Lodge Ceremony (Temazcal)?
Because the donations are needed to cover our ceremony-related expenses, which are:
• monthly liability insurance payments (we can’t have a Ceremony if we’re not insured );
• fuel for Ceremony leaders, assistants, helpers, and organizers;
• firewood used during the ceremony;
• tobacco, sage, and other herbs used at the Ceremony;
• water, electricity, toiletries, and the infrastructure at the location;
To mention a few…
We are here to provide the safest and most efficient Ceremony to our community, and we appreciate everyone’s cooperation.
The suggested donation/energy exchange per person is $50.00 (fifty dollars).
Donations are accepted via Venmo or our PayPal Tip Jar (Spirit of the Wind is a confirmed Charity on PayPal).

Dress Code for Women:
The Sweat Lodge (Temazcal) is a sacred space and should be treated with reverence.
Women should wear a modest, loose-fitting cotton long dress or a long skirt and a non-revealing top that covers the shoulders. Avoid synthetic fabrics, metal jewelry or underwires, and tight clothing.
Women on their “Moon Time”
Women during their “Moon Time” (having their monthly period) may not attend the Sweat Lodge, as this is a sacred time when the body is already naturally purifying.
A designated space is available for prayer and song during the Ceremony.

Water and Hydration:
Please bring a water bottle to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water before and after the ceremony.
Water is not permitted inside the lodge.
We also encourage participants to stay well hydrated in the days leading up to the ceremony.
No Drugs or Alcohol will be tolerated:
Individuals who have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol within 24 hours preceding the ceremony are not allowed to enter the Ceremonial area of the Sweat Lodge and will be asked to leave.
We will not tolerate any drug use before or at our ceremony, and that includes recreational drugs (i.e., marijuana), psychotropic drugs (i.e., cocaine), or psychedelic drugs (like ayahuasca, for example).

Release Form and Guest List:
A "Sweat Lodge Release Form" is a document that individuals must sign before participating in a sweat lodge ceremony.
It serves as a waiver in which participants acknowledge the potential risks of the ceremony, including high heat, confined spaces, and possible physical discomfort, and release the organizers from liability for any injuries that may occur during the experience.
Participants must disclose any pre-existing health conditions that could be affected by the sweat lodge. These include, but are not limited to, diabetes, seizures, heart disease, high or low blood pressure, pregnancy, and the use of certain medications.
The ceremony typically lasts between 60 and 90 minutes.
The Release Forms will be available for participants to sign at each sweat lodge ceremony.
PARTICIPANTS MUST SIGN THE FORM EVERY TIME THEY ATTEND THE SWEAT LODGE.
This requirement applies even to participants who attend the sweat lodge monthly, as a person’s health condition can change within that time.
If you have any questions, please contact us.
